A Brief History of Bosch in Canada
Bosch opened its first office in Canada in Montreal in 1954 as a sales site under the name Robert Bosch (Canada) Ltd.  In 1957, as we began to grow, we moved to a 2,500 sq. ft. office space at 33 Atomic Avenue in Etobicoke, Ontario.  Then in 1974 the growing popularity of Bosch in Canada necessitated another move to an 89,000 sq. ft. location in Mississauga, Ontario.  At that time, we changed our name to Robert Bosch Inc.

Today we distribute from our current offices on Creditview Road in Mississauga where we have occupied over 180,000 sq. ft since 2005.  In fact, the addition of Gilmour Canada (a division of Robert Bosch Inc.) in 2007 adds another 30,000 sq. ft. to our distribution space in Mississauga.

The Mississauga distribution centre handles all distribution within Canada for the Automotive Aftermarket, Bosch Power Tools, Skil Power Tools, Dremel/Rotozip and the Security Division of Bosch.  Over 200,000 orders destined to all areas of the country are processed here annually.
On January 1, 2007 BSH Household Appliances Limited, a subsidiary of Bosch (BSH Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group, the third largest appliance manufacturer in the world) opened their Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.  Then in September of 2008 BSH held the official unveiling and ribbon cutting of its premiere Canadian showroom - L'Atelier BSH in Montreal, Quebec.
In 2008 the Bosch Security division acquired Extreme CCTV in Burnaby, British Columbia.  The 19,700 sq. ft. location now serves as the Center of Excellence for Bosch Extreme products with functions that include R&D, engineering, manufacturing and product management!

We continue to grow in Canada offering products to enhance the lives of Canadians.  You can access other divisions of Bosch by clicking on the various menu items offered on this page.  Contact us directly by using the 'contact' button on the menu at the top of this window.

What Is Electromagnetic Energy?

Electromagnetic energy is the energy that comes from electromagnetic radiation. This radiation is composed of waves, such as radio waves and visible light, that move at the speed of light in a way that is suggestive of both waves and particles. Electromagnetic radiation causes both electric and magnetic fields. Only a small part of the electromagnetic field is visible; this part of the electromagnetic spectrum is known as the visible spectrum. The field of electrodynamics, which is a subfield of electromagnetism, is the aspect of physics that focuses on the study of electromagnetic energy. It is an ongoing field, as electromagnetic energy is a significant part of the field of quantum physics, which is still a major area of study in modern physics. One major area of interest in the study of electromagnetic energy is the wave-particle duality of electromagnetic waves. When analyzed over long periods of time and long distances, electromagnetic waves are seen to behave as typical, oscill
